Building High Performing Teams

Our multi-year study confirmed that there are three major factors that all teams must pay attention to and consistently address if they intend to become a high performing team.

  1. Leadership – We discovered that the best teams have leaders who can provide constructive feedback and coaching support when members need help or act in ways that are unacceptable. In addition, top teams have leaders who can build and manage relationships with the team’s key stakeholders, particularly senior leaders. Most importantly, we learned that leaders of top performing teams act decisively and provide very clear direction when their team gets off track or when the team must address emerging issues or challenges in a timely and decisive manner.
  2. What We Do – Beyond strong leadership, we also learned that the best teams ensure that What they do as a team – their strategies, goals and objectives, their roles and responsibilities, and their team processes and procedures are all very clear and continuously updated and aligned.
  3.
